Michel was obviously working for Germany –whether he was paid or not we might never know. Argentina got two undeserved yellow cards and lost a penalty thanks to him. The obvious bias irked the players and perhaps the coach too. Everybody says Pekerman made the wrong substitutions. Maybe he saw it was more about sustaining blows than playing football. Yes, Michel did a good job -he kept Germany in the tournament.

Abbodanzieri couldnt have and wont want to faked it... for an important match like this one... it was klose who brought him down... and he wasnt yellow carded... what a "fair" game!

Oh and to add: __ATLEAST__ a free kick should have been called for the knee attack on Abbodanzieri.

It was unbelieveable how the linesman didn't see the dive in the situation that resulted in Sorin being carded. Also germans miss on the ball resulted in a free kick. It was clear that not only the southerns dive these days.

Rodriguez didn't deserve a yellow...It was a tackle but not quite enough for a penalty I think.

I sincerely hope that Lubos Michel won't be nowhere around Berlin during the final. Although it didn't directly lead to Argentinas los, it is always dreadful to see such horrible and audience-reaction-driven judging from a 'world-class' referee.

Oh, and to all those whinning about home refereeing, it's fixed, conspiracy theorists blabla. Germany won because they had the better cold blooded penalty mentality and Jens Lehmann. Argentina lost because Pekerman made questionable substitions. The referee didn't influence the outcome of the match. The referee in the Australia - Italy match did.

Yup, the ref did a solid job. Could have given Ballack a yellow card for his dive (though would have been a little harsh) but at least didn't give a penalty to Germany. Though he didn't see another similar situation where an Argentinian defender clearly pulled Ballacks shirt. He also missed a dive by Odonkor, which resulted in a free kick which again resulted in nothing. Also the decision that Rodriguez dived was correct. Instand replays showed that he had already decided to take off before Lahms intervention.
